The Amateur Swimming Association is the English national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water and synchronised swimming. The ASA aims to ensure everybody has an opportunity to learn to swim and support the pursuit of excellence in swimming. Where permitted by our local authority partners, our Swimming Academy courses are ASA accredited.

British Gymnastics
British Gymnastics (BG) is the UK National Governing Body for the sport of Gymnastics. Its objectives are to establish the UK as a leading gymnastic nation by providing world class gymnast development programmes, effective competition structures, best practice coach, judge, teacher and volunteer education programmes, strong club development and support packages, cost effective services and support a UK wide voice. BG covers many disciplines including general gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampolining, acrobatic gymnastics and cheerleading.

BISL - Business in Sport and Leisure
Business In Sport and Leisure aims to improve regulatory frameworks and influence formal policies and plans, which affect the Industry's operation and its continued growth and improvement. It also seeks to improve public awareness of the Hospitality, Sport and Leisure Industry, its economic importance and status. BISL is also an active lobbyist on issues relating to Sports PFI and PPP initiatives. It promotes fiscal incentives for companies to increase sports provision, and encourages business to help grass roots sports.

England Squash is responsible for the organisation and promotion of squash in England. It is a company limited by guarantee and comprises 38 County Associations, approximately 1,000 Clubs (who affiliate to the organisation on behalf of their members) and Individual and Player members.

FIA - Fitness Industry Association
The FIA is a trade body promoting excellence and best practice within the health and fitness sector. In a bid to facilitate growth and development of the industry, the FIA runs successful national campaigns such as Commit to get Fit and the prestigious FIA FLAME (Fitness Leadership and Management Excellence) Awards, as well as numerous promotions, initiatives and research projects throughout the year.

The Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) is a programme supporting the fitness industry to become more inclusive, catering for the needs of disabled and non-disabled people, raising physical activity participation levels. The model is built around developments in four key areas: Accessible Facilities, Inclusive Fitness Equipment, Staff Training and Inclusive Marketing Strategies. So you should expect a truly inclusive experience at an IFI accredited facility.

As the professional body for the leisure industry, ISPAL represents the interests of leisure managers across all sectors and specialisms of leisure. DCLM has worked closely with ISPAL in raising standards in leisure and has in the past received accreditation from ISPAL for its approach.

LMCA exists to promote and develop professional standards within the local authority leisure management industry. It also provides a service to all client organisations requiring advice and guidance in any aspect of the 'contractual' process or assistance in the continuation of service.

RLSS is the UK governing body for Lifesaving and Lifeguarding. DCLM is registered as an approved training centre for the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards, accredited by the RLSS (UK).
