D C Leisure Management Ltd (DCLM) was founded in 1991 to respond to opportunities in leisure created by Compulsory Competitive Tendering (CCT) legislation.

Since then, DCLM has spent its working life in this important community service operating and optimising the performance of public leisure centres in partnership with Council clients. Our experience of facilities management covers a diverse range of leisure amenities, and a variety of locations both urban and rural.

The company has grown into one of the country's largest operators: it has 30 clients and over 100 leisure centres within its business portfolio; it also generates an annual turnover of over £73m. Today DCLM is the largest leisure contractor, employing 7,000 people.

So that DCLM would continue at the forefront of the leisure management industry and take full advantage of new opportunities in the marketplace, a change of ownership took place in October 2003. Sovereign Capital Ltd purchased a shareholding and a new management team stepped forward, culminating in the formation of DCL Holdings Ltd.

Looking ahead, our main business challenges are: to strengthen the company's already pre-eminent position in the sub-contracted leisure management market, and to increase the diversity of new business through further expansion of our operations into evolving leisure markets, such as PFIs and PPPs.
